VISION

GWF is a charity that has been built out of a passion to empower, enable and help women, live a holistic and fulfilling life. As an organisation our vision is to;

Women

·      See women maximise and achieve their desired potentials spiritually, academically, financially, mentally, family-wise and career-wise. 

·      To support and promote women’s development in every area of their lives and empower them to become positive contributors to the growth and well – being of their communities. 


To achieve this we will work with women from diverse communities, delivering a broad range of services that will inspire and enable them achieve our visions.

MISSION

Our mission is focused on;

  • Helping them to become more economically active and become a lot more fulfilled in their personal lives

  • Helping women to discover and fulfil their God- given purposes

  • Helping women discover, develop and maximise their God-given abilities

  • Helping them become vessels of honour in their ministries, marital relationships, parenting and careers

  • Empower and encourage them to demonstrate the love of God to wider groups of people world-wide

  • Support their  personally development and growth by promoting self-confidence and self-reliance, community participation, health and wellbeing, and building the necessary social skills

  • Empowering women to become well educated by providing training and education to enhance economic and social status.

  • Providing training needed to develop leadership skills and improve employment prospects.

  • Connecting women together irrespective of their race, colour, religion or social status.

  • Working with those who are in need and disadvantaged in the community in the bid to provide educational opportunities, food aid, community awareness and business opportunities.

  • Creating an environment where women can share experiences with each other, bear one another’s burdens as well as working together to improve the mental well –being of the women in our community.

GWF is guided by the following values and principles:

  • Respects for Personal Dignity- We believe in a non-judgemental approach that respects the dignity and rights of those whom we engage with: staff, volunteers, members, partners and targeted groups.

  • Integrity and Honesty - We believe that our work should be undertaken with integrity, openness, honesty and professionalism.

  • Openness to learning- We believe in remaining open minded, continuing to learn from stakeholders and partners, while continuing to remain passionate and enthusiastic about our work.

  • Empowerment- We believe in independence and long-term solutions to problems through sustainable projects.

  • Collaboration - We believe in the strength of a collaborative network both locally and internationally, based particularly on the experiences of the good women community and the global partnership.

  • Accountability and Transparency- We believe we should be responsible to each other and to the people and organisations with whom we engage and strive to make our work transparent and accountable. 

  • Participation: We believe that community participation is an essential part of the process of good local governance and community development. Therefore we consider participatory approaches as critical instruments of our Association.

  • Partnerships: We consider partnership as one of our key organizing principle, we are, therefore, committed to developing, maintaining and nurturing partnerships, including alliance and linkages- with institutions and individuals who identify our vision and mission. 

  • Diversity and Inclusion: We are committed to taking account of diversity by making our services inclusive and accessible to all sections of the community and creating an environment that respects and values all of our stakeholders.
